KALEIGH FITZGERALD
GOLD
This was a disintegration project for the Particles and Procedural Effects class offered at SCAD. After attaching a mountain node to a sphere, I animated the size and used a Boolean node to subtract the geometry from the bust model. After scattering points to the intersection, a DOP network allowed control over the particle animation. I then created a Heightfield, a large ocean, and created a scene. Responsible for all aspects minus bust model.

Step 1: Scene Assembling
After deciding to use this bust model to disintegrate, I found a great reference for the look-dev (see below). So I manipulated a hightfield, scaled down a large ocean, and put the bust in the water. (Bust from Free3D.)

Step 2: Boolean
I created a sphere and attached a mountain node to it, animated the size through key framing then booleaned between the bust and sphere to subtract the busts shape.
Step 3: Particles
After creating a POP Network, I used POP Wind to control the wind velocity, amplitude, and swirl size for the shape and direction of the particles.
